You will need:


Abbreviations (US terminology)

ch - chain
hdc - half double crochet (UK terms: htr - half treble crochet)
inc – single crochet twice in the next stitch, also known as an increase stitch
rnd(s) – round(s)
sc - single crochet (UK term: dc - double crochet)
ss - slip stitch
st(s) - stitch(es)

The Pattern

This sock is crocheted in the round from the toe up.

Toe

Using Paper White, start with a magic ring.

1st rnd: 6 sc into the magic ring. (6 sts) 

2nd rnd: inc in every st of the rnd. (12 sts) 

3rd rnd: Repeat *1 sc, inc* 6 times. (18 sts) 

4th – 6th rnds: sc all sts.

Break off Paper White, join in Red Apple. 

7th – 15th rnds: sc all sts.

Heel

The heel is worked over 9 stitches, leaving the rest of the stitches unworked.

This section is worked in rows.

Break off Red Apple, join in Paper White.

1st row: ch1, ss into first st, 2 sc, 3 hdc, 2 sc, ss into next st, ch1, turn.(9 sts)

2nd row: Repeat 1st row.

3rd row: ch1, ss into first st, 2 sc, 3 hdc, 2 sc, ss into next st, ss into one of the closest stitch from the unworked stitches to anchor the heel to the rest of the sock.

4th row: Repeat 3rd row.

Fasten off your last stitch. Leaving approx. 10cm yarn tail, cut yarn.

Main Body

Rejoin Red Apple to one of the corners where the heel and main body meet. This will now be the new start of your round.

1st rnd: ch1, sc all sts. (18 sts) 

2nd – 9th rnds: sc all sts.

Break off Red Apple, join in Paper White. 

10th – 13th rnds: sc all sts.

14th rnd: sc all sts, ss to join rnd.

Fasten off your last stitch. Leaving approx. 15cm yarn tail, cut yarn.

Weave in any yarn tails into the wrong side of the sock.
