Tutorial Overview

We use this technique to decrease the number of stitches in our row.

Step-by-step guide

Step 1:

Insert your right-hand needle through the front of the first two stitches on your left-hand needle.

Step 2:

With the yarn in front of the needles, wrap it round the tip of the right-hand needle, anti-clockwise.

Step 3:

Using the tip of the right needle, draw the loop down and through the 2 left stitches.

Step 4:

Slide these 2 stitches off of your left-hand needle.

Step 5:

You have now purled 2 stitches together, decreasing your knitting by one stitch.
