On June 20th 2018, Jen Hoang participated in a live broadcasting of NatWest Business Hub’s Spotlight Sessions, presented by Mary Portas. The Spotlight Sessions, which ran for five weeks and covered topics from cyber security to HR, offer practical guidance for UK SMEs through insight from a panel of industry experts and key players in British business.
Alongside CEO of Brompton Bicycle, Will Butler-Adams, and Director of Exports at Perfection Foods, Gurdeep Singh Bath, Jen was interviewed by Mary Portas as part of the Spotlight Sessions: export episode.
Jen answered questions on how herself and Jenny Lam went about expanding Stitch & Story internationally; on building the brand story; on how Stitch & Story connected globally with potential buyers and what the first thing they implemented on Stitch & Story’s export journey was; as well as the next exciting markets to explore.

Stitch & Story began exporting to the US in 2017, following support from the Department for International Trade (DIT). In recent months the company’s international expansion has been celebrated in DIT’s Exporting is GREAT campaign, which has seen photographs of Jen and Jenny popping up in marketing campaigns across the country. This included billboards at Heathrow and London City Airports and on the great.gov.uk website landing page.
Jenny said: 'For any business owners considering exporting, it’s important to remember that there’s support available. If we can do it, other businesses like us can too.'
